Hard to Forget

Taking pills every days makes it hard to forget that I have cancer.

Chemo once a week was not fun, but it left me with 6 days to pretend that I was "normal."

Please daven (or send happy, healing thoughts) for RivkA bat Teirtzel.

With love and optimism,
RivkA

Rivka - I was going to leave a comment saying that _exact_ thing yesterday, and then I decided against it. I was thinking that all those pills make the cancer a constant in your mind, never giving you a break. I felt that way when I had radiation each day - I could never "forget." Ironic how the pills SHOULD be easier than the infusion, but aren't...Thinking of you...

I hate taking pills too (though taking advil occassionally doesn't come CLOSE to the amount of hating you must feel!) and you'd think that somehow since they can make all kids medicine in a nice tasteful liquid, they could manage to do this for adults - ESPECIALLY when they have to take so MUCH! Jeesh.
Someday.
may the pills go down easily... thinking of you.

But really, we never forget our complicated illnesses, do we, no matter how we look or how many pills we pop. The "pretending" thing doesn't work well internally. It's only a front. But sometimes that 'front' is quite welcome, in it's own right. Lots of love and a spoonful of sugar for your medicine to go down.

I cannot imagine doing this. May the process itself leave you with some sort of gain when it's all over.
