Update; In the spirit of this blog being RivkA's thoughts, the information about the tehillim request is being moved to the comments section.

Jameel, thanks for posting. I just posted about her on me-ander and see that the T'hillim list is doubling.
I'll post the movies if I can on Shiloh Musings.

I am sort of a lurker here.(i think i commented a couple times a month or so ago.)
I don't know Rivka outside of this blog - so please keep posting about her status. I had no idea she was in the hospital - but worried ...because I just lost my mother to cancer last week - so I am familiar with many of Rivka's symptoms and issues she is dealing with.
I am not jewish - but will pray in my own way for her.
let her know please that she has followers out here from all over the world.
Rivka Rocks.

thanks.

Thanks Jameel!!!!!
Please, everyone, even if we have two or three or four people on each chapter, please keep signing up.

Weese, so sorry to hear about your mom. That's a hard one, too. Your prayers count and they are welcome.

if you want details of visiting her, just email me at soosim@netmedia.net.il

she is not really up to visitors, but she does like people coming. it is a good thing to do, even if you catch her sleeping.

say a prayer and then say another one. now is the time.

also, our shul in har homa has organized a big tefilla event at kever rachel for friday.

RivkA, when I first met you (a long time ago now) I thought you were opinionated, but quickly realized that what you are is determined in the most wonderful way, to pursue the truth, find the best path, grapple with the possibilities, and do what you know is right for you. I have thought of you as a role model in many ways, particularly as a parent--for those of you readers who have only read her blog but haven't seen RivkA in "action" you should know that she is as patient, sensitive, considerate, and interactive with her children in real life as is suggested in her blogs, sort of a gold standard. Your beautiful talk posted here reaffirms the qualities I admire so much in you. You are wonderful and admirable, not because of the cancer but the way you have approached cancer has been one more expression of what is generally special about you. Praying for A's miracle.

To explain the "tehillim" thing:

Tehillim is the Hebrew name for the Book of Psalms. The prayer project that Devra is talking about is this: Different friends sign up for different Psalms, committing themselves to say their assigned chapter every day, and for the "merit" of that prayer/study to go toward RivkA's healing. The goal is that between all of us, the ENTIRE book of Psalms is said on her behalf every day. Reciting Psalms is a traditional Jewish way of praying for a sick person to get well (or other negative things in the world to be corrected).

I know RivkA appreciates everyone's prayers, no matter what form they take or what religion you practice (or don't). If you are looking for a way to pray and don't know Hebrew, saying Psalms in English translation is one appropriate way to join in our group prayer effort.

I just started watching the videos, RivkA. No surprise - you're thoughtful, expressive and well organized. Very impressive. Which is also not a surprise.

RivkA has asked me to compile a book.

She would like her friends to write about any positive impact she has had on your life, any way in which she has touched your life. So, get
... thinking, and get writing, and please EMAIL me your contributions, under the heading:
"Written for RivkA."

It doesn't have to be long, but it can be as long as you want it to be.

Thank you for the explanation of the prayer chain; I have signed up for two psalms and will be saying them for a refua shleima (complete recovery) for RivkA bat Tirzel every day. "The Lord will guard your coming and going both now and forever."

Following is a request from RivkA's friend, Devra.

As most of you know, RivkA has been hospitalized.

I would like to start an open-ended mishmeret tehillim for her. Participants would each take a chapter or chapters of tehillim to be said every day for up to 40 days. The mishmeret will start tomorrow (to give people time to sign up). Please forward this email!

Participants say 'bli neder I will say these tehillim every day as a zechut for a refua shleima for "RivkA bat Tirzel" and say their tehillim, the same chapters, every day.

It's recommended that you have a buddy, in case you cannot say your chapters or in case you forget.

Every day I will, bli neder, say the traditional prayer before reciting tehillim in the morning, and the prayer up on completion every night.

If, be'H, we can keep going after 40 days, we'll create a new page.

Please click this link and choose your tehillim.

Shalom,
RivkA. You left this world's scene at the parsha that Rivka Imenu
came onto the scene. I feel like you were also a "mother" to so many in
your inspiring messages & positivity in general, and specifically as
in my case, in helping so many women in their own motherhood by helping us in the initial stages after ou...r babies were born. Baruch Dayan HaEmet.
