Demands

Everybody wants something from me.

Not everyone in the world, just everyone who lives in my home.

(And some others, but I'm not talking about them right now.)

Most of the time, the demands are not unreasonable... just overwhelming.

It's too much.

Please daven (or send happy, healing thoughts) for RivkA bat Teirtzel.

With love and optimism,
RivkA

I wish I could promise you that it gets better, but it doesn't. When they get married they learn how wise!!!! and amazing!!!! you are and want to call even more for advice. There is no rest for the weary, but being a mommy is so wonderful, I know you really don't mind. :)

thank you for putting this so nicely into words! I feel like this too.

It is time to laugh. Do what you can and laugh about the rest. They will be more likely to smile even if they don't get what they want.

How is your son feeling?

If you hadn't written your exclusion about not meaning others, I might have felt guilty....

On the bright side, you can look at it that their need is an expression of their love for you. We don't ask/demand the same way from people we don't feel very close to.

From strangers we ask carefully. From friends we ask casually. From family we demand.

I know the feeling. I am about to wake up my oldest for mikva and davening, but I still have about 7 minutes, that are all mine.

Anon "guess who" -- that is not fair. you could be several people! (I like hanging out with people who laugh and make me laugh!!)

E - nice spin

Henya -- LOL!! hope you enjoyed those precious minutes!

I just had this very sort of melt down on Monday night. Mondays are the worst day of week. Xeloda has left me in a fog. Somedays its too darn exhausting mentally to plan a meal and no one seems to get that.
My 9 yo homework was way over my head and no one was home to help him.
Sometimes in taking care of everyone else people forget sometimes I need help.

Hey Kelly,

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm wondering why Mondays are so hard? What are you doing over the weekends?

I do not find any one day harder than another. I am tired ALL the time. And my stomache is upset ALL the time.

I stopped by your blog. Want to join our new group blog for mothers living with cancer? We haven't officially launched the site yet.
