An Update

A post should be up here later today, as dictated by RivkA.

Important: As opposed to yesterday (Sunday) -- today friends are welcome to visit RivkA, for short visits.

Also, please be understanding that you may have to wait a bit to see her (depending on the number of people in her room).

Please understand that family conversations with RivkA will take priority over visitors.

RivkA’s looking forward to seeing you!

And she specifically told me last night, "tell people to check the blog for updates."

On behalf of RivkA,

--Jameel

Please daven (or send happy, healing thoughts) for RivkA bat Teirtzel.

With love and optimism,RivkA

PS. Hope someone enjoyed the bagels... and Rivka's mom gave me the name of someone in Modiin that she wanted me to get in touch with Gabriella something. I should have written it down. Jameel, if you could get that name for me again, please...

RivkA, love and miss you. Your words and inspriration. Would someone please tell me what you were like before the cancer? I'm in awe of your energy and determination.
If I don't get to visit, I hope someone is printing these notes to you.

Dear Friends,

We visited Rivka today. She remains hopeful and determined, but at this as of this afternoon there had not been an improvement in her condition.

I write this not to dampen your spirits, but only to clarify the seriousness of her situation, which regrettably is not showing good progress.

Even in her most difficult situation, Rivka reiterated that we must have positive thoughts about the future, but also said that the matter is no longer in her hands.

Batya,
RivkA before cancer was remarkably the same as RivkA with cancer...the same feistiness, same determination, same "I can fix the world" attitude. I know as of lately (by that I mean 6 months or so) she's been more tired, but basically until recently RivkA is the same. This is a woman who can lead a La Leche League meeting, teach a swim class, guide a tour group, sell some Tupperware, actively parent 3 children and usually all in one day! Seriously, I once remember RivkA dropping off some Tupperware I bought from her at midnight!! At my wedding (my favorite RivkA story) she came, was mesameach the bride, with all her kids in tow, then went off to demonstrate in Gush Katif.

Hi RivkA,

Sorry we keep missing you. Yesterday I was so glad you got a chance for some good family time. Although we didn't see you we got to get to know your friends Josh and Bat Tzion. I hope you feel the results of rachamim from shamayim.

Bli neder we'll try again to visit, if you are up to it. I will have some jokes for you.

In the mean time know that we are pulling for you. We send you lots of love. You are an amazing, wonderful lady, and we are so happy that you are our friend!

I send you hugs and kisses.

Love, Jolie (and Tom, Yekutiel, and Rosie)

I hope Rivka received our message - we all at La Leche League International (oct. board meeting in chicago)spent a few moments - silent prayers from different faiths, 18 people sitting around the table from all corners of the globe - thinking positive thoughts and appreciation for all that you, Rivka have given. this blog is a testimony to that.
i certainly continue to pray.
